| Anna Paquin has been a New Zealand-Canadian film and television actress for more than 20 years. Her credits include the PianoFly Away Home and X-Men. It was not her intention to become an actress but fate determined otherwise. To remain focused in her studies, she turned down many job offers after the success of her first film. However at the age of fourteen, she came back to the world of film by taking on roles in Jane Eyreand the film Fly Away Home.In 2000, she was the strong mutant Roguein The X-Men, the first film in the X-Menfilms series. This role catapulted her to worldwide recognition. She was cast in the same role as Roguein sequels such as X2 and X-Men The Last Stand. She also was seen on smaller screens, notably in the film Bury My Heart At Wounded Kneeforwhich she received her very first Emmy nomination.
